NPDC/ND Western joint venture has felicitated with host communities of the OML34 field, Delta State, giving out food and other items in the spirit of the Yuletide season to appreciate their support.
The oil firm gave out bags of rice, groundnut oil, assorted drinks, salt and other items to about 35 communities in the OML34 cluster group.
ND Western’s Community Relations Officer, Eunice Akpurhobo, said the gesture was to appreciate the communities, which host the company’s operations. According to her, the company celebrates with host communities at the end of every year to thank them for their cooperation.
The President-General, Edjeba community, Ibuakevwe Ejiroghene, while expressing gratitude to the firm for the Christmas gifts, appealed that the items be increased in view of the large number of people that shares it.
He described the gesture as a step in the right direction.
Stephen Asheshe and Biosah Joyce, representatives of Okpare-Olomu and Ugbodede communities respectively, commended ND Western for the items and also urged them to do more.
