The Students’ Union Government (SUG) of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, yesterday, commissioned the fully-renovated Students’ Union Building known as Kudirat Abiola Building.
The building, which is the secretariat of the SUG, has been abandoned for a long time and overdue for renovation.
As promised during their campaigns, the ‘R’ of ARISE agenda, which stands for renovation, pushed the current administration led by Adeboye Anuoluwa to renovate the building.
Meanwhile, the renovation project was completely done through the union’s internally-generated revenue from commercial transporters on campus as disclosed by the SUG President and the building was commissioned by the LAUTECH Global Alumni President, Onilede Solomon, JP.
Onilede applauded the SUG executives for executing the laudable project and encouraged them to do more of it.
In his speech, Dean of Students’ Affairs, Prof. A.O. Ige, extolled the SUG executives for making judicious use of their internally- generated revenue. He then tagged them “The Unusual Executives.”
Also, in his remarks, the SUG President, while appreciating the support of the university management, Office of Dean of Students’ Affairs, LAUTECH Alumni Association and the students’ populace, reiterated that his team would continue to be committed to fulfilling their ARISE agenda, one of which is the renovation of the Students’ Union Building. He then assured everyone that the building will be properly maintained and used for its purpose.
