The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ogun State, Oladipupo Adebutu, has promised that his administration will ensure local government autonomy if he is elected in the forthcoming elections.
Adebutu, who made this promise while donating a 500KVA generator to residents of Odeda Local Government Area on Thursday, said local government autonomy would engender grassroots development in the state.
In a statement by the Director, Media and Publicity of the Ladi Adebutu/Akinlade Campaign Organisation, Afolabi Orekoya, the governorship candidate said he was committed to providing an enabling environment through his Itura De agenda.
At Odeda LGA, he visited the palace of the Osile of Oke-Ona Egba, Oba Adedapo Tejuoso, to receive royal blessing.
The statement quoted Adebutu as stressing that “his commitment to bettering the lots of the people of Ogun State with his Itura De agenda was designed to bring relief to the people.
“He noted that Odeda being the seven out of the 10 wards, mainly known for agriculture and a good number of farm settlements, will be provided with the necessary support to aid the development of agriculture and to encourage the farmers.”
The statement indicated that the transformer was donated to the Atapila Camp community to salvage the spate of epileptic power supply experienced by the people for over three years.
