Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has been named the Barclays Manager of the Month, in the Premier League for November and December 2022.
Arteta has now won the award two times this season and four in his managerial career so far at Arsenal, claiming the award in September 2021, March 2022 and August 2022.
Arteta led Arsenal to four victories from four EPL matches, winning away against Chelsea, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Brighton and Hove Albion while beating West Ham United at home.
The victories saw the table-topping side garner a seven-point lead at the top of the Premier League table going into 2023.
Arteta beat fellow coaches and nominees; Thomas Frank of Brentford, Eddie Howe of Newcastle and Jurgen Klopp of Liverpool, to clinch the award after votes from the public were combined with those of a panel of experts.
Meanwhile, captain and midfielder Martin Odegaard has been named the EA Sports Player of the Month also for November and December 2022.
Odegaard becomes the second Norwegian to win the accolade after Manchester City striker Erling Halland bagged his in August 2022.
As seen on Arsenal’s official website, Odegaard said, “It feels great. I’ve said a lot of times this team has a lot of young, hungry players and we play so well with each otehr.
“It’s a pleasure to play with them and show my qualities so I’m very happy to get this award.”
The 24-year-old is the first Arsenal player to win the EA SPORTS Player of the Month award since Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in September 2019, producing three goals and three assists across November and December, the most goal involvements by any EPL player during the period.
He beat others nominees like City’s Haaland, Manchester United’s Casemiro and Marcus Rashford, fellow team mate Bukayo Saka, among others to clinch the award.
