21ST Century Youths of Niger Delta and Agitators with Conscience (21st CYNDAC) has condemned alleged move by the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) to woo the outspoken Governor Wike of Rivers State to support its controversial activities.
The group, in a statement signed by Izon Ebi,
alleged that the move was a desperate move to hoodwink the Niger Delta people into accepting the Commission as meaning well for the people.
It said: “We want to use this medium to express our disappointment with the esteemed Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, who we respect as the mouthpiece and Conscience of the Niger Delta region. It beats our imagination how a lawyer by profession, whose wife is a judge, allow his well-respected self to be associated with an illegal NDDC board formed and sworn in, despite a subsisting court order?
“21st CYNDAC, therefore, call on Wike to exonerate himself from this pseudo board by urging the board to make public the report of the NDDC forensic audit; probe the tenure of Mr. Nsima Ekere and Mr. Effiong Akwa; and make public the amount of money released to NDDC for the past seven
“We warn that failure by Wike to act in accordance with the above suggestions will lead to immediate mobilisation by the 21st CYNDAC against the preferred governorship candidate and his party in the forthcoming election.”
It described as infuriating and denigrating that Mr. President ignored highly respected individuals with impeccable characters in Niger Delta and imposed his core political loyalists on the people.
