Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, has promised to industrialise Abia State to make it one of the major exporters of manufactured goods.
Tinubu made this known while addressing a mammoth crowd at the party’s presidential rally at Umuahia Township Stadium, yesterday.
Tinubu noted that the people of Abia are the most industrious, energetic and dynamic one can find on earth.
He, therefore, commended Abians for making the nation, as well as the continent of Africa, proud through their industrious and innovative nature, which has put them on the global map.
He then promised to even make them more globally recognised if elected president on February 25, promising to establish a primary industrial hub in the state.
He said: “Aba market is one of the largest in West Africa. I see it becoming a major exporter of all types of manufactured goods to Asia, to North and South America, as well as Europe.
Tinubu noted that his plans are genuine for the people of the state, as well as across the country, from his understanding of needs of Nigerians.
One of the major highlights of the rally was that the APC presidential candidate summoned the party’s parallel governorship candidate in the state, Dr. Uche Ogah, for dialogue.
Ogah has been at different court levels challenging the candidacy of Dr. Ikechi Emenike as the authentic governorship candidate of the party in Abia.
Tinubu urged Ogah, who was the immediate past Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, to drop pending litigations in courts over the governorship primary in the state and join members to ensure victory for the APC.
He appealed to Abia people to vote for him and other APC candidates in February and March polls to give them the opportunity to restore Nigeria’s pride of place in Africa and the world.
He said: “We put the APC together to salvage the country; hence, we cannot be in the court against ourselves. APC government would be youth oriented.
He added that with him as president and Emenike as the state governor, the state would become a tourism haven through collaboration with Federal Government.
