Spanish Liga F club Levante Las Planas have completed the signing of Nigerian midfielder Ngozi Okobi-Okeoghene on a free transfer for the rest of the season.
The 29-year-old joined the Valencia-based club from Swedish outfit Eskilstuna United after a five-year spell.
During her stint with Eskilstuna, Okobi-Okeoghene made 68 appearances, scoring six goals.
The Super Falcons midfielder brought an end to her seven-year stay in Sweden having also played for Vittsjo GIK, where she featured 38 times and scored three goals.
On Tuesday, the Nigerian arrived in the Castilian team as the club bid to escape relegation as they currently occupy the 12th position on the table with 15 points, just three points better than Deportivo Alavés, who sit bottom of the table.
Following her addition, she becomes the second Nigerian at the club, teaming up with compatriot Rita Chikwelu following the departure of Super Falcons captain Onome Ebi last December.
The Nigerian is the latest acquisition of the club, who have also brought in former Paris Saint-Germain player, Aminata Diallo, who was released by the club after she was arrested and charged with three counts of aggravated assault and criminal conspiracy in relation to the attack on her then-team-mate Kheira Hamraoui, who was beaten with an iron bar in November 2021.
Manager Ferran Cabello will hope to have the Nigerian available for their weekend clash against Charity Adule’s Alhama on Saturday.
She is now the eighth Nigeria international in the Spanish topflight, joining new teammate Chikwelu, Charity Adule of Alhama, Asisat Oshoala of Barcelona, Gift Monday of Tenerife, Osinachi Ohale of Deportivo Alavas as well Toni Payne of Sevilla and Rashedat Ajibade of Atletico Madrid.
