Ahead of the forthcoming general elections, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Delta State, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has solicited the support of health workers in the state, promising to meet their needs.
Omo-Age, who is the Deputy Senate President, met with representatives of various health workers’ associations in the state in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area on late Monday.
The represented heath workers’ associations included the Medical and Dental Consultant Association of Nigeria; Association of Resident Doctors, DELSU branch; Association of National Private Medical Practitioners of Nigeria; National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives, DELSU branch, the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria as well as the Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria, among others.
While addressing them, Omo-Agege said health care delivery should be a right rather than privilege, pledging that if elected Delta State governor he would make quality health care and education accessible and affordable to people of Delta State.
