Militant group in the Niger Delta region, The Force of Egbesu, has warned Federal Government and state governors against negotiating with a group led by one General Gbolodi, describing them as impostors.
In an online video message, Gbolodi had expressed readiness to talk with government.
But The Force of Egbesu noted that time was not ripe for talks until the injustices done to the Niger Delta region were remedied, especially in the oil-rich Bashan Clan, Bayelsa State, or they would disrupt the coming general elections. The militants warned President Muhammadu Buhari, Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State and other politicians to heed their demand.
“We have been informed that a group of people, who claim to be The Force of Egbesu, are in talks with government delegations.
“We want to categorically state here that we, The Force of Egbesu, are yet to receive any government delegation. Those the government is alleged to be in talks with are impostors; we’re in the creeks waiting for government’s response to our earlier demands and warnings. “We equally want to state clearly here that our earlier demands and warnings remain sacrosanct,” the group stated.
