Lagos State chapter of Ohanaeze Ndigbo and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) have expressed its desire to vote Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in the March 11 governorship election in the state, maintaining that the governor deserved to be re-elected for his performance in the last four years.
Ohanaeze made the promise at a briefing by the leadership of the Lagos State Leaders of Thought led by Yoruba Council Worldwide and Ohanaeze Ndigbo, aimed at calling for calm and understanding with the non-indigenes in the state.
The pan-Igbo group urged Sanwo-Olu to go to sleep, as Ndigbo will vote him massively.

The President, Yoruba Council Worldwide, Hassan Oladotun; President, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Mike Kelechi; and President, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Lagos chapter, Sunday Osai, stressed that Sanwo-Olu would be re-elected because of his landmark achievements and sustainability of peace, unity and development of the state.
According to them, the joint conference was called following calls for Sanwo-Olu to be voted out in the gubernatorial election.
The leaders also urged all ethnic groups in Lagos to come out en masse to re-elect Sanwo-Olu.
They said Sanwo-Olu’s administration performed creditably in the state by given every ethnic group fair share of support in all sectors.
SIMILARLY, rising from an emergency meeting in Ikeja, yesterday, leaders of PFN in Lagos said the governor had been doing well since he took the reins of power four years ago, urging Christians to re-elect him on March 11.
At the meeting, convened to review the February 25 election and the need to present a common front for the March 11 edition, the Director, Politics and Governance (DPG), Dr. Theophilus Ajose, said the Church requested for a Christian governor; hence, PFN’s support for Sanwo-Olu.
He added: “This gubernatorial election is not about any political party, but about the candidate. Sanwo-Olu has made Christians proud and has governed the state without any religious bias. He is one of us and the Church is speaking with one voice that he deserves our support again.”
He called on all church leaders to support the gubernatorial candidacy of Sanwo-Olu.
The Chairman, Enyinnaya Okwuonu, said despite PFN’s non-partisanship and without prejudice to other contestants, “Sanwo-Olu deserves a second term to complete the good work he has started in Lagos.”
