The Coalition of Opposition Political Parties, Cross River State chapter, has adopted and endorsed the Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in the state, Sandy Onor, ahead of the poll.
The coalition, comprising at least 10 political parties, said they collapsed their structures to support Onor after an extraordinary meeting held Friday to review the state of affairs.
Onor had earlier been endorsed by religious and social-cultural and political groups such as Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Ejagham Stakeholders Forum and the Obi-Dients Movement.
Meanwhile, the Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign Council, Akwa Ibom State chapter, has distanced itself from the endorsement of two governorship candidates outside the Labour Party by a group parading itself as members of the Obi-Datti movement in the state.
This is as it declared support for the gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party in the state, Uduak Udoh and pledged to stand behind him and other candidates of the party during the rescheduled governorship and state houses of assembly elections.
