Acting Vice-Chancellor of Tai Solarin University of Education, Ogun State, Prof. Oluwole Banjo, has been installed as the fifth Vice-Chancellor of the institution.
Two years after his appointment into the office as the acting VC, Banjo’s appointment as the VC was confirmed and approved.
Speaking at the investiture ceremony, which was held at the institution, Banjo stated that his administration had successfully raised the standard of education in the institution.
He said “I became the Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University on the 2nd November 2020, following the appointment of the then VC, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu as the Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology by the State Executive Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun.
“I was in that capacity until 2nd August 2022 when the visitor to the University graciously approved the confirmation of my appointment as the fifth substantive VC of the University.”
Banjo added that within a short period of time, his administration had succeeded in “dictating the pace of rapid development in the university as evident in infrastructure renewal, restructuring of the general administration of the university and further development of academic programmes.”
He stated that the institution governing council would be unveiling a 24-hour transcript service order in the Academic Affairs Division.
He listed his achievements, “Sustaining the growth of the university by securing 100 per cent full accreditation for our academic programmes; Movement of our College of Vocational and Technology Education to Ososa; Increasing the infrastructure facilities of the university through TETfund assisted projects; sustaining the legacies of the stable academic calendar and industrial harmony in the university; purchase of two new generators for the campus and students’ hostels.”
