By Rauf Oyewole, Bauchi
The governor-elect under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, yesterday asked other candidates who he contested the governorship seat with to join him in building a new Bauchi State.
Mohammed, who gave out this invitation after receiving his certificate of return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), spoke on behalf of 31 other elected state lawmakers.
Mohammed believed that politicking has come and gone, hence the time for good governance, saying that Bauchi is bigger than any politician.
“Election and electioneering are over, we have no qualms or malice against anybody even those, who competed with us. We again reiterate our determination to raise our arms of olive branch to those who contested with us so that we can come together and build a new Bauchi, where it would be the pride of everybody. Bauchi is greater than all of us.
“God gives power to whom He wishes, He gave it to us as a test, we would not be arrogant and we won’t show that we are better than anybody,” Mohammed said.
He added that there was no victor nor vanquished in the last elections but just an exercise of democracy, which he said he would work for.
