Members of Delta State Council of Traditional Rulers have advised the Delta State Governor-elect, Sheriff Oboreworie, to be fair to all Deltans and evolve an all-inclusive government on assumption of office on May 29 this year. The advice is contained in a four-point communiqué issued at the monthly meeting of the Council in Asaba.
The First Vice Chairman of the Council and Pere of Akugbene-Mein, Luke Kalanama V111, who read the communiqué, also charged the incoming government to emulate the development strides of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, who they adjudged to have performed excellently. The monarchs enjoined losers in the election to accept the outcome in good faith and join forces with the winners to make Delta State greater.
‘’We are particularly happy that peace has remained prevalent in the state before, during and after the elections and we are happy with the situation,’’ he said.
Flanked by the Second Vice Chairman and Obi of Ubulu- Unor, Agbogidi Henry Kikachukwu 1, and the immediate past Chairman of the Council and Obi of Owa, Dr. Emmanuel Efeizomor 11, the royal fathers harped on the need for peace in all communities across Delta State.
The monarchs congratulated the Governor-elect, Sheriff Oborevworie, the Deputy Governor-elect and Members- elect of the state House of Assembly.
They approve the appointment of a six-member Health Committee to liaise with relevant health authorities towards improving the health needs of the people.
