Ahead of official treatment of electoral petitions, a group, Africans in Diaspora for Good Legislation, has launched a go fund me account to ensure the judiciary honestly dispenses with the February 25, 2023 poll.
The body said the intervention is one of a kind at saving votes of more than 130 million poor Nigerians, whose last hope lies in the judiciary.
Speaking at the weekend, founder of the group, Ameh Ejeh, admitted that no amount could save a nation, whose commitment is not to citizens, hence the importance of letting the people’s vote count.
He said a fair handling of the petitions by the relevant bodies would ensure the people’s vote count.
His words: “Let us save Nigeria and Africa! Let the people see that their votes count, let the judiciary do an honest Job.
“This is a call for the entire global village to donate for the purpose of humanity.”
The fund, according to Ejeh, is to honour and encourage outstanding individuals, who work to ensure the elections tribunal is unbiased.
“Remember, that our donations will be used to celebrate critical personalities with cash awards. We also call on Nigerians and Africans to donate openly or anonymously.
“We are much stronger than the few think we are when we the people stay united to restore hope to Nigeria and Africa,” he added.
