Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has, again, the elongated deadline for 2023 Direct Entry (DE) admission into universities nationwide.
A statement by Head of Public Affairs/Protocol Unit, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, yesterday, said the examinations body had approved for the registration to subsist after the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) test and national population and housing census.
The UTME holds from April 25 to May 3, while the census commences from May 3 to 5.
The DE registration, earlier scheduled to close on April 20, was extended by one week.
With the newest development, the exercise is continuing May 6 when the two aforementioned national assignments would have held.
The statement noted: “This development is to accommodate the conduct of the UTME, billed to start on Tuesday, April 25 and end on Wednesday, May 3, while the national census is scheduled to start on Wednesday, May 3 and end on Friday, May 5.
“Candidates desiring to register for the DE exercise are, therefore, directed to ensure that they obtain their DE ePINs from designated vending outlets on or before April 30 when ePIN vending would be closed. Candidates are then expected to proceed to the Board’s offices from Saturday, April 6 to Saturday, May 13 to complete their registration procedure.”
“The Board assures all candidates desirous of DE registration that none would be denied the opportunity to register provided they comply with the Board’s directives and within the stipulated time frame.
In the same vein, the Board solicits understanding of candidates as it puts in place some innovative measures at checking incidence of falsification of results, data and other infractions.”
