Gombe State Police Command, yesterday, paraded two minors, Buba Ya’u and Abdulrahman Hassan, both 13, for allegedly killing 17-year-old Adamu Yusuf.
The minors, who are from Digge village via Jamari in Dukku Local Council of Gombe State, allegedly beat the victim with sticks before stabbing him to death.
The Command’s spokesperson, Mahid Muazu Abubakar, who briefed newsmen yesterday, said: “On Friday, one Adamu Jabbo of Ngalda Fika Local Council, lodged a complaint that the suspects attacked and beat his son, Yusufu of Gadum village in Dukku council.
“On receipt of the complaint, team of police officers from Dukku Divisional Headquarters, rushed to the scene to arrest the suspects while the victim was taken to General Hospital, Dukku.
“He was later referred to the Federal Teaching Hospital, Gombe, for further medical treatment. The victim was later confirmed dead by a medical doctor, while receiving treatment. The case would be charged to court for prosecution.”
Also, the police have paraded one Adamu Buba Baje, 30, of Jauro Musa village via Nafada, for kidnapping two siblings: Fatsuma Buba and Manu Adamu. Their father, Alhaji Adamu Bello of Labe Village of Nafada Local Council went to the Division and made a formal complaint that on the same date, at about 11:30hrs, some unknown persons armed with guns and cutlasses stormed his residence at Papa village and attacked his relatives, inflicting injuries on them, and kidnapped Buba and Adamu both of the same address to an unknown destination.
“Upon receipt of the complaint, police operatives activated its intelligence platform and traced the hideouts of the suspected kidnappers.
“On April 19, 2023, police tactical team in collaboration with hunters raided the kidnappers’ den where they successfully arrested one Adamu Buba Baje and rescued the two victims unhurt while another suspects fled to an unknown location.
“Exhibits recovered from them included: seven cows, four donkeys, 19 sheep, 10 goats, one Techno handset, chain and padlock,” the Command’s spokesperson added.
