Napoli President, Aurelio De Laurentiis, has ruled out the departure of Nigeria international Victor Osmhen who has been tipped for a summer exit.
The 24-year-old Nigerian striker wrote his name in Napoli’s history book after his 22 league goals powered the Naepolitan side to its first Serie A title since 1990.
After the historic league triumph, De Laurentiis who took charge of Napoli in 2004 remains confident that the Partenopei will be able to go even further in Europe in the coming seasons.
“An adjective for this Scudetto is wonderful. Ours was a question of perseverance, a victory against the system,” De Laurentiis told Calciomercato.
“Luciano Spalletti will stay here. Our project will not stop here, it’s just the beginning. We want to win again, and again, and again. And then there’s the Champions League.
“The fans in the stands are the most important thing, even of what happens on the pitch.
“Now we must not stop, but continue with our protagonists. We will not keep discontented by force. Kvara (Khvicha) and Osimhen are not leaving.”
The Nigerian has hit 27 goals in 34 appearances across all competitions for Parthenopeans this season, emerging as one of Europe’s most sought strikers with United, Chelsea and Bayern Munich among those interested in signing him this summer.
The Super Eagles striker leads Serie A top scorer chart with 22 goals, and five assists in 27 matches and is valued at €150m.
