President of South East Media Professional Group (SEMPG), Emenike Iroegbu, has endorsed aspiration of Godswill Akpabio (Akwa Ibom North West) for Senate presidency of the 10th National Assembly.
Emenike, who addressed journalists, yesterday, in Umuahia, Abia State, after returning from a meeting in Enugu, said Akpabio, a former Akwa Ibom State governor, has not only “distinguished himself excellently, but also has passion for Nigeria.” He acknowledged that other aspirants were eminiently qualified for the seat.
Iroegbu said: “Akpabio has the legislative skill and is loyal to the All Progressives Congress (APC) by stepping down for the President-elect, Bola Tinubu during the primary.
“He is versatile and has built political bridges across Nigeria. His passion for Nigeria is topnotch.” Iroegbu noted that the erstwhile Minister of Niger Delta Affairs uncommonly transformed Akwa Ibom. He, therefore, submitted that an Akpabio Senate presidency would rewrite the National Assembly and Nigeria positively.
SIMILARLY, the Diaspora Support Network (DSN) has bought into project. The convener, Paul Manner, made the position known via Zoom from his base in the United States of America, at the weekend. He said Akpabio is the preferred candidate for the office owing to his development and pan-Nigerian credentials. He thanked Tinubu and APC for backing the bid.
