According to an Italian publication, sempermilan.it, Serie A giants AC Milan have identified Nigerian forward Victor Boniface as a potential target this summer, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
Boniface had an impressive season with Union Saint-Gilloise and was on target on 22 occasions while he also had 12 assists in 55 appearances.
The striker finished joint-top scorer in the Europa League with six goals, sharing the lead with Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford.
Boniface joined the Brussels-based team from Bodo Glimt for a club-record €2m at the start of the 2022/23 season and has been in form since then.
The 22-year-old’s fine form has drawn the attention of Napoli, AC Milan, Lazio and RB Leipzig, who want to secure his services for next season.
Sempermilan.it, however, in their latest report said that the Rossoneri were not giving up on the signing of the Nigerian, who they considered another top choice should negotiation with their primary target, Marcus Thuram, doesn’t go according to plan.
“With the negotiation that could be complex for the French forward, Milan could direct their attention towards another striker.
“The name would be that of Victor Boniface, tip of the Union Saint-Gilloise much appreciated by Geoffrey Moncada. The valuation would not be very high and could be within the reach of Milan’s transfer market budget. We are talking about €10m to €15m.”
