Over 3,600 prospective pilgrims from Katsina State have so far been transported to Saudi Arabia for the 2023 Hajj.
The Public Relations Officer, Katsina State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Badaru Bello-Karofi, gave the update to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Katsina.
NAN reports that about 4,913 intending pilgrims are expected to perform this year’s pilgrimage from the state.
Bello-Karofi said that the pilgrims were transported via Max Air in seven flights.
He said that some of the pilgrims are now in Madina, while others are in the City of Makkah performing their religious rites.
The spokesman gave the assurance that the board would complete transportation of all state’s intending pilgrims before the deadline given by the Saudi Arabian authority.
He said that the board’s Executive Director, Alhaji Suleiman Nuhu-Kuki, expressed appreciation to the state Governor, Malam Dikko Radda, for the support and cooperation towards the success of the Hajj operations.
Bello-Karofi said that the Executive Director appreciated other stakeholders for their immense contributions to ensure success of the exercise in the state.
He urged the intending pilgrims to exercise patience, saying that all of them would be transported to Saudi Arabia before the deadline.
