Controller General of Federal Fire Service, (FFS), Abdulganiyu Jaiji, at the weekend decorated 320 newly elevated officers of the service charging them to renew their commitment to the fight against fire disasters in the country.
The officers, who were promoted into the ranks of Superintendent and Chief Superintendent of Fire respectively, alongside ten other senior officers, are among paramilitary personnel that underwent the 2022 promotion examinations conducted by the Civil Defense, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board, (CDCFIB).
While congratulating the personnel, Jaji encouraged them to brace up for higher tasks and challenges that come with rising through the ranks.

According to him, “The new positions will demand a more careful and discrete conduct in the discharge of your duties because to whom much is given, much is expected.”
He also informed the officers that they would soon be posted out for new assignments befitting their new ranks as is the culture of progress and growth in paramilitary service. He said “No growth happens without a shift in position. It is part of every thriving organization including the public service.”
Of the 320 promoted officers, 117 officers Deputy Superintendent of Fire, (DSF), moved to the rank of Superintendents of Fire, (SF), 104 officers from Assistant Superintendents of Fire I, (ASF I), were elevated to the rank of Deputy Superintendents of Fire, (DSF), while 28 officers were promoted from ASF II to ASF I.
64 others rose from the rank of Inspector of Fire, (IF,) to ASF II and 7 others were upgraded and converted to ASF II.
