The Ikeja Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (ICCIA) inducts new Very Important Personality (VIP) farmers and members to curb poverty.
The event took place at Eko FM Hall, Lagos State Television (LTV) Compound Ikeja, Lagos.
President, Ikeja Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, Dr. Edward Olutoke, said the event was aimed at appreciating our members for their collective efforts in tackling food insufficiency, poverty, unemployment and hardships around the world, in Nigeria and Africa.
The groups also have huge farms and practice both passive and active farming methods depending on members interest and capabilities.
“A member might choose to be a passive farmer, in which case you release your funds for any of the Agric Value Chains and earn 50 per cent profit on the amount invested after harvest in six months without the stress to run the business,” Olutoke said.
“We are committed to constantly creating value for our members to ensure high returns on their funds and experience exponential growth with our carefully designed modern business model.
He said the platform gave an opportunity for streams of income and has taken million of persons out of poverty
A board member Ikeja Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, Prof Sola Fosudo, said, it is business organisation with great networks that impact on their members economically.
He said that the group had set up veritable and highly impactful platforms for the discovery, rewarding and promotion of talents in Nigeria and the world at large.
A popular On-Air Personality (OAP), Mr. James Emmanuel a.ka. Expensive of Wazobia FM said the vision would create a favourable environment for doing business in Nigeria and strengthen international business cooperation.
He said: “ Farming is a big business. One can farm in the comfort of his or her home with little or no training. lt could be snail, fish , animal husbandry, poultry, vegetable farming, among others…”
