The Pastor in Charge of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Lagos Province 16, Biyi Famoyegun, has advised Nigerians not to lose hope in the face of the challenges in the country, urging them to keenly look through and discover hidden opportunities that could turn their lives around.
Speaking yesterday at the end of a two-day Anchor 2023 Redeemer’s Men Fellowship (RMF) Annual Conference themed, ‘Still Standing’ at the church auditorium of Peace Assembly, Victoria Island, Famoyegun said the import of the event was to inject new hope into the lives of the beneficiaries with a view to living a balanced life that would ensure stable homes and career development.
“When we look at our country today, we will discover that a lot of people can no longer find their footings as a result of the kind of hardship they are going through due to economic challenges.
“So, the take away from this event is encouragement to confront the current situation in the country with courage. In fact, it would be an annual event and I am trusting God that as this type of programme was effective in the parish I was pastoring before my posting to this place, it would equally yield result.
“Our facilitators who are children of God and professionals in different fields shared their experiences and equipped the beneficiaries with the knowledge and wisdom they need to have a leeway at a period like this,” he said.
Famoyegun added that since the government could not do it alone, the church through a programme like this would continue to give hope to the citizens.
A facilitator, Gbide Falade, who spoke on the importance of having a ladder, said that for anyone to rise, he or she should have the right support system.
Another facilitator, Isaac Orolugbagbe, who addressed the people on investment opportunities, said that instead of complaining and resorting to the status quo, Nigerians should identify opportunities that the current hardship has thrown up and take advantage of them.
