The Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has appointed former Super Eagles captain, John Mikel Obi, as his Honorary Adviser on Sports.
Mikel was appointed by the governor alongside 22 others including a former Chief Medical Director of the Jos University Teaching Hospital, Dr Ishaya Pam, and a Lagos-based music star, Jude Abaga, known better as M.I Abaga, who were given Honorary Advisers on Healthcare and Entertainment and Creativity respectively .
The governor, who disclosed the appointments in a statement released late Thursday evening and signed by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere, said the appointments were based on his resolve to get the state back on sound footing.
Among the 23 other appointees were Honourable Alex Chup as Chairman, Teachers Service Commission while Mrs. Victoria Satu Jatau and Honourable Cyril Longpuan are to serve as Commissioner 1 and 2 respectively .
Others appointed into the State Universal Basic Education Board were Honourable Sunday Samuel Amuna as Acting Chairman; Mrs. Chundung Shom- Full Time Member; Mr. Godwin Kasam-Full Time Member and Tang’an Emmanuel as Secretary
Also appointed by the governor to serve at the Abuja were Liason Directorate Engineer, Danladi Mwanton, Ziphion Chrysantus, Pharm. John Chun, Mr. Nanyak Wuyep Kumsal and Mr. Manji Wilson, among others.
