A joint security team of the Ogun State Police Command and the State Community, Social Orientation, and Safety Corps has arrested two persons for allegedly breaking into houses and shops to steal in the Oke-Ejigbo area of the state.
PUNCH Metro gathered that before the arrest, residents of the community had filed several complaints of break-ins and robberies by unknown persons.
However, the police command disclosed in a statement that the suspected masterminds, Kolawole Sobowale and Moruf Soyoye, were apprehended by the joint efforts of the security team in the early hours of Sunday.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, in a statement, said the suspects had confessed their crimes, adding that a manhunt had begun to apprehend the third suspect who fled the scene.
“One of the suspects was seen moving with a blood stain on his legs while carrying a live turkey. The SO SAFE team trailed them to their houses and cordoned off the house, leading to the arrest of the suspects,” Odutola said.
She said the suspects had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation.
