Monaco will face competition from Tottenham Hotspur as they continue the pursuit of their long-time target, Tosin Adarabioyo from Fulham, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
The deal was almost dead, but there has been renewed optimism from the French side in the past hours, after Fulham opened the door for Adarabioyo’s departure.
However, Tottenham will compete for the defender’s signature before the end of the window, and it is reported that the Cottagers would prefer to sell to their London rivals, in order to receive Eric Dier in return.
But Adarabioyo has insisted that he doesn’t want to move to Spurs as he would prefer a transfer to Monaco.
The French Ligue 1 side have also had two initial bids for the Manchester City Academy product rejected but they were reported to be preparing an improved bid last week.
Meanwhile, Adarabioyo seems to have fallen out with the Cottagers’ hierarchy after he refused to sign a new contract, with his current deal expiring at the end of the season.
After being left out of their first two games of the season in the Premier League, he returned to the bench last Saturday in their 2-2 draw against Arsenal and came on as a second half substitute after they were reduced to 10 men.
Monaco may have a busy end to the window with Folarin Balogun already in the Principality, and the officialisation of his move is thought to be imminent.
The USMNT striker has been a top target for Les Monégasques throughout the summer, just as Adarabioyo.
As reported by Foot Mercato, OGC Nice are also interested in Adarabioyo, in the event of Jean-Clair Todibo leaving the
club.
