Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, has urged members of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State not to entertain fear, and predicted better days ahead for the party in the state.
Oyetola spoke at a get-together organised by Osun APC leaders to commemorate his 69th birthday ceremony in Osogbo on Friday.
The ex-Osun State governor, who joined the event, attended by commissioners that served in his cabinet, ex members of Osun House of Assembly and party leaders across the state, via zoom, said his current assignment in Abuja prevented him from travelling back to the state to mark his birthday anniversary.
He commended organisers of the event and called for cooperation among members for APC to remain strong and witness improved fortune in the days ahead.
Speaking in Yoruba language, Oyetola further said, “May God continue to love you all members of APC. I had wished to have opportunity to travel back home to celebrate my birthday with you all, but my job here is a serious one.
“So, no opportunity to travel. I would have come back home to be with you. I sincerely appreciate this gesture. Everything we pray for, may God do them for us. Let’s not be troubled, Osun will be greater.
“Osun APC will continue to record victory. I greet the organisers of the event. You didn’t ask me for anything. Yet you organise this, I sincerely appreciate it.”
Meanwhile, Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has felicitated with the former Governor of Osun state and Minister of Blue Economy, Mr Gboyega Oyetola on the occassion of his 69th birthday anniversary.
In a statement he personally signed on Friday, Governor Adeleke described the advancing age of the minister as a divine grace and pray to God to grant the minister more blessed years on earth.
“It is my pleasure to congratulate my dear big brother on the occassion of his birthday. I thank God for granting my predecessor another blessed year.
“On behalf of the people and government of Osun state, I convey our heartfelt good wishes. Whereever my brother is, he should please enjoy his day,” Adeleke said.
