Niger State has signed an agreement with the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure, to promote agricultural technology.
A statement signed by Bologi Ibrahim, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Mohammed Bago, stated the Memorandum of Understanding was signed on Wednesday at the COP28 Climate Summit in the United Arab Emirates.
“The pact is aimed at enhancing mechanized farming equipment, providing renewable energy solutions, food processing technology, and technical support,” the statement read in part.
Meanwhile, to protect game reserves, the governor called for the creation of rangers dedicated to managing and protecting the forest and conservation areas in Nigeria.
He stated this when he participated as a panelist in an event organized by the Nigeria Police at the Nigeria Pavilion on the sidelines of the COP28.
At the event, Bago called for opportunities for green initiatives and partnerships with the Police and other organizations, including Ministries, Departments, and Agencies working in this area.
Bago also commended the Nigeria Police for their commitment to green initiatives.
The Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun, in his presentation at the session, highlighted some of the giant strides made by the Nigeria Police Force in environmental sustainability through the Nigeria Police Green Initiatives.
