A former governor of Edo State, Prof. Oserheimen Osunbor, on Thursday, said he has the capacity to lead the state to enviable heights if given the opportunity.
He also pledged to address the issue of failed roads in the state, among other developmental projects that the state lacks, noting that the state is retrogressing under the present administration.
Osunbor spoke in Benin City during a visit to the leadership of the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress where he declared his intention to contest for the 2024 governorship election.
The former governor said he was aware of the sufferings of the Edo people and would change things if given the party’s ticket, and subsequently emerge as governor of the state in the 2024 election.
He added that he has the experience and integrity having been in the office as governor for a short period, and promised to deliver good governance if elected.
He said, “The state is currently suffering from bad roads and non-availability of other amenities. If given the opportunity to serve again, I will make sure that all these amenities are available.
“I have been there before, and I have a lot to offer, and I promise Edo people that I will do a lot to better their lots.”
Osunbor solicited the support of the party leaders, promising that he would take the state to greater heights.
