Owerri- Ahead of Monday’s second term inauguration of the governor of Imo state, Hope Uzodimma, the Imo State Orientation Agency, has called on Imo people to continue to shun acts inimical to the growth of the state.
The Special Adviser of the agency, and Former Chairman of the Imo state Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Fidel Onyeneke, made this call while speaking to newsmen in Owerri, on Saturday regarding the Uzodimma’s inauguration ceremony.
Onyeneke who is also a member of the media and publicity committee, of the Uzodimma’s inauguration, started by saying: “The government had already laid a solid foundation which would sustain peace and security under the new dispensation. The enthusiasm and interest shown by the citizenry towards the Swearing-in and inauguration ceremonies was clear evidence of the confidence and support for the success of the administration.
“We solicit for the maximum cooperation of the people with the Government because good governance is a joint responsibility of all and sundry. Following the giant strides recorded by Governor Uzodinma we believe that the glory of Imo State will be skyrocketed under the new tenure.”
“We appeal to the people to shun negative acts which are inimical to the growth of the State, no meaningful progress could be achieved under an atmosphere of disharmony. We remind the residents that they do not have any other state they can call their own except Imo and as such, they should guard it jealousy,” he said.
