Bayern Leverkusen manager, Xabi Alonso has revealed that Nigerian striker, Victor Boniface, is ready for action as the club currently has no injured players.
The Nigerian striker has been sidelined since he underwent surgery for an abductor injury in January, which ruled him out of the 2023 African Cup of Nations a few days before the start of the tournament.
The 23-year-old is now ready to make his return after working hard in recent weeks to regain full fitness. Manager, Xabi Alonso says Boniface is likely to feature in Leverkusen’s DFB Pokal semi-final clash with Fortuna Dusseldorf on Wednesday.
We have no injured players. Everyone could be available for the squad,” Alonso said in a pre-match press conference.
“Boniface could play a part of the game. He trained hard and came through it with a strong mentality. He can’t wait to be back on the pitch.”
Boniface had scored 10 goals and made seven assists in the Bundesliga before his injury in January.
He was named the league’s Rookie of the Month five consecutive times from September to January.
