The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) on Saturday confirmed that four persons lost their lives in two separate accidents in Ogun State.
The first accident, according to a statement made available to newsmen by the spokesperson Ogun State sector of FRSC, Florence Okpe, occurred late last night on Ijebu Ode-Ore expressway after Ogbere junction at about 2034hrs.
He said the crash involved two vehicles; a DAF Truck with registration number AYE886ZQ and a Volvo Truck with registration number MUS246YH.
“A total of 05 male adults were involved, 3 of which were injured, while the other 2 were killed and trapped inside the vehicle”.
“The injured victims were taken to State General Hospital, Ijebu Ode, while one of the corpses were handed over to the families of the deceased and the second one deposited at the General Hospital morgue Ijebu-Ode”.
“The suspected causes of the crash were route violation and speed violation.
The second crash, which occurred on Lagos-Ibadan expressway in Ogere axis after verony claimed two lives; one female adult and one female child.
“The crash occurred at about 1030 hrs, involving one vehicle with registration number BDG526JC a Toyota Camry”.
“07 persons were involved in the lone crash ( 4 female adult 01 male adult, 01 male child and 01 female child) which 05 persons were injured ( 01 male adult,01 female child, 01 male child and 02 female adult)”
“The cause of this lone crash was excessive speed which led to lose of control and the vehicle summersualted”
“The injured victims were taken to Idera Hospital Sagamu for medical attention and deceased bodies were deposited at the same hospital”.
The statement added that the State Sector Commander of FRSC, Anthony Uga is pained at the rate at which vehicles speed without caution.
He further stated that speed which is known to be a human factor, should be controlled and not over the limit.
He advised motorists to drive within the stipulated speed limit and observe road signs
