The Plateau State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Ephraim Usman insists Governor Caleb Mutfwang does not interfere in local government financial resources.
Usman made the clarification on Plateau Radio Peace 90:5FM where he presented the one-year scorecards and how the local government chairmen are driving governance at the grassroots level. According to him, Mutfwang is focused on developing the state. “As it stands, the administration of Governor Caleb Mutfwang doesn’t interfere in the resources of the local government workers.
“When we came on board, we met the backlog of salaries of the council workers amounting to N4.7billion, but this government has cleared salaries and they workers are happy.” According to him, most of the local government chairmen have performed well in the areas of education and healthcare, among others.
