Gunmen have attacked Tudun Doki Village in Gwadabawa Local Government Area of Sokoto State, killing six people and abducted many others.
Gwadabawa Local Government Area in Sokoto East Senatorial Zone is among the areas witnessing worst terrorist attacks, kidnapping, cattle rustling and other criminal activities in the state.
According to an eyewitness, Ibrahim Adamu, the gunmen entered the village around 11:30 pm on Saturday and killed five people, while the number of abducted persons remains unknown as some people fled to safety.
“It’s a tragic incident and I hope the authorities will take swift action to apprehend the perpetrators and ensure the safety of the community,” he said.
Contacted, the Sokoto State Police Command spokesperson, Ahmad Rufa’i, confirmed that six people were killed in the attack. Rufa’i said the police are still trying to determine the exact number of abducted persons.
