In commemoration of the International Day of the African Child, pupils drawn from various schools were exposed to digital potential in online marketing, and solution education. The children were tutored on the use of tools such as YouTube, Instagram, WhatsApp, coding, AI, robotics, and animation to trade, get solutions, and advance in the global horizon.
The pupils, who showed excitement in learning, said that digital literacy was fascinating, as they indicated interest in advancing their career with the use of technologies in proffering solutions to societal problems. The children were tutored by experts including Dr. Victor Odunuyiwa, Mrs Edukugho Aminan, Ms Mojisola Fagbohunlu and a first class Computer Science graduate, David Mark.
The event with the theme, ‘Education for all Children in Africa, the Time is Now’, was held at the Nithub centre University of Lagos, also exposed participants to digital buying and selling, solution education, right to education and tech tools that widened the pupils horizon. Master Adedeji Victor Osamagbe, an SS1 student of the University of Lagos, International School said the programme has ignited his zeal to explore opportunities in the tech world.
Osamagbe, who desired to study medicine, said that, with the aid of technology that he has been exposed to, he would be able to find solutions to common illnesses that ravage humanity. “I will advance my studies through the use of the search machine to explore the medical sciences and tailor my findings toward societal problem solutions,” he said.
