Newly appointed Napoli coach, Antonio Conte, has stated that he does not expect to have striker Victor Osimhen available as he aims to lead the team to the pinnacle of Italian football.
Despite signing a new contract last December, the Nigeria international is expected to leave Napoli this summer. Osimhen has been on the radar of top clubs including Chelsea, Arsenal, and Paris Saint-Germain.
However, reports indicate that interested parties are reluctant to meet the £130 million release clause in his contract.
Conte addressed the situation during his unveiling ceremony on Wednesday, confirming that Osimhen is set to depart the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.
“I’m aware of his situation, I know there’s an agreement with the club, so it’s a different case compared to others,” said the former Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur manager.
“There’s a pact be – tween Victor and Napoli regarding his future, and I accepted that.
