The Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan, Oyo State has remanded two men, Temitope Arinola, 45, and Mufutau Kola, 42, for allegedly strangling and dismembering a woman in the capital city.
New Telegraph reports that the accused, who do not have a permanent address, are charged with conspiracy and murder on Wednesday, June 26.
Mrs Adebola Adeola, the magistrate, refused to hear their pleas due to a lack of jurisdiction.
She instructed the police to return the case file to the Oyo State Director of Public Prosecutions for consultation.
The case was adjourned until July 30 for hearing.
The prosecutor, Insp Iyabo Oladoyin, informed the court that the defendants committed the offenses on May 17, near the Akinyele-Ojoo Expressway in Ibadan.
She claimed that the accused unlawfully strangled and dismembered Mrs Eniola Shakirat, killing her.
She claimed that the offenses violate Sections 516 and 324 of Oyo State’s Criminal Laws, 2000.
