Nigeria has again been thrown into power blackout as the national grid has collapsed again.
Saturday Telegraph gathered that this occurred at 3.09pm on Saturday.
The Head Head, Corporate Communications, Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC (EEDC), Emeka Ezeh, and the Ikeja Electric Distribution Company (IE) confirmed the blackout in a statement to their customers.
Ezeh in a statement titled: “Notice of general system collapse,” said due to the grid collapse, the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) stations are out of supply.
He said: “EEDC wishes to inform her esteemed customers of a general system collapse which occurred at 15:09 hours today, 6th July, 2024. This has resulted in the loss of supply currently being experienced across the network.
“Due to this development, all our interface TCN stations are out of supply, and we are unable to provide services to our customers in Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo States.
“We are on standby awaiting detailed information of the collapse and restoration of supply from the National Control Centre (NCC), Osogbo.”
Also IE in a statement received by one of the estates residents said: “Dear Esteemed Customer. The current outage is as a result of a system collapse of the national grid.
“The Power system stakeholders are working to restore supply as soon as possible. Please bear with us. Thank you.”
