Ahead of the planned protest, friends of President Tinubu & Shettima in collaboration with the Good Leadership Support Organisation (GLSO) have called on youths and women to be patient with President Bola Tinubu, saying he deserves support and not protest.
The Convener/National Coordinator of GLSO, Ms. Bridget Torbua Igbauke made this appeal in response to the #Endbadgovernance protest scheduled to hold between 1st August and 10th August 2024.
Ms Igbauke pleaded with the protesters to sheath their swords and join President Tinubu in delivering the dividends of democracy.
She said: “The organisers of the protest should pause for a minute and ponder on the retinue of developmental strides that President Tinubu has achieved in less than 14 months in office”.
Ms. Igbauke urged the masterminds to be careful not to allow them to be deceived and brainwashed by anarchists.
The National Coordinator listed some of the monumental achievements of President Tinubu including the increase in the minimum wage from N30,000 to N70,000, local government autonomy achieved through pronouncement by the Supreme Court, payment of N50,000 Presidential Conditional Grant Scheme to small businesses, introduction and commencement of student loans and increase in state allocation as every state in Nigeria has been getting a minimum of 45 per cent more than they were getting under previous administrations.
Ms. Igbauke pleaded that if the President had achieved these developmental strides in less than 14 months in office, he would achieve more in four years.
She said what President Tinubu deserves at the moment is the citizen’s unalloyed support and prayers instead of protest.
