A 39-year -businessman, Tochukwu Nwosu, has been arraigned by the Police before a Magistrate Court in Awka, Anambra State for alleged assault on Dr Chinwike Oke-Nwosu by threatening to kill him.
The defendant Nwosu, was arraigned before the court presided over by Magistrate E.C. Chukwu, on charges bordering on willful and unlawful damage of a concrete fence wall with the security barbed wire installed thereon, being the property of Dr. Chinwike Justice Oke-Nwosu.
Nwosu, a resident of No. 3 Nwosu Lane, Agbana Ngene Village, Amawbia in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State, was charged before the court on 11-counts.
However, hearing has commenced and the IPO has testified as the PW1. Part of the allegations against the defendant as filed before the court as contained in the charge are as follows: “That you, Tochukwu Nwosu ‘m’ 39-years, businessman of No. 3 Nwosu Lane, Agbana Ngene Village, Amawbia in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State, on or about October 2021, at No. 3C Nwosu Lane, Agbana Ngene Village, Amawbia in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
He did willfully and unlawfully damage a concrete fanciful slab constructed at the terminal end of a fence wall being the property of Dr. Chinwike Justice Oke-Nwosu which the current replacement value is yet to be ascertained and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 415(1) of the Criminal Code, Cap 36 Vol. II, Revised Laws of Anambra State of Nigeria, 1991.
