Former presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Mr Peter Obi, has countered the mole allegation of the party on Mr Kenneth Okonkwo who resigned from the party last weekend.
Obi in a statement by Dr Yunusa Tanko, spokesperson of Peter Obi media, said he sees Okonkwo as a junior brother who played his role diligently during the struggle.
According to the statement, Obi said he was sad over Okonkwo’s resignation from the party, adding, “Okonkwo cannot be called a mole in our family with the services he rendered and still renders in our struggle to create a new Nigeria that is possible.”
He added he decided to make his views on the matter known “because the public needs to know that there is no personal misunderstanding between” the Obidient family and Okonkwo “but only a disagreement based on style and approach to problems.”
Labour Party had in a statement by Obiora Ifoh, National Publicity Secretary of Julius Abure faction, alleged that Okonkwo was one of the moles who came from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to destabilise the Labour Party.
