Thousands of protesters have blocked the Keffi-Abuja highway preventing motorists from travelling into Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Keffi.
The protesters also made burn fire from discarded vehicle tyres on the highway leading to heavy traffic jams on the popular Keffi-Abuna highway.
Some of the protesters carried placards with various inscriptions, some of them read “End bad governance in Nigeria”, “Bring back fuel subsidy” ” Fix Our Economy” among others.
Similarly, in the Marraba area of Karu local Government Areas of Nasarawa state, some protesters were seen on the streets protesting thereby preventing vehicular movement along the axis.
It was gathered that no protest was witnessed in Lafia, the Nasarawa state capital, a visit to some major streets in the metropolis showed no presence of protesters in sight.
It was gathered security personnel earlier deployed to keep vigil on the state capital were sighted mounting surveillance in strategic areas and at government facilities to tackle and eventuality.
Correspondent reports that various youth groups, Faith-based, student bodies and associates in Nasarawa State had earlier declined to take part the in the planned protest.
