The operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have recovered nine different guns from those planning to embark on protests in the Mushin area of the state.
Some of the guns recovered include; two AK-47 ruffles, one K2 Assault rifle, one Red Rufer rifle, and three pump action rifles others are two locally made single-barrel pistols.
Also, five magazines, Fifty-seven live cartridges, Seventy 5.56 live ammunition, Twenty-seven 9mm ammunition, one expended 5.56 ammunition, one dagger, Three walkie-talkies and Nine international passports.
Confirming the story, the Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO) SP Benjamin Hundeyin said thank you Lagosians for the timely information. Together, we can overcome insecurity.
“This morning at about 1 am, responding to a distress call about the presence of armed men on Agoro Street, Mushin, our tactical team based in Surulere swiftly moved in and arrested One Sherrif Mustapha 42 and Suturat Lateef 28, while one other escaped upon sighting the police.
“The suspects led the police to number 1, Moshalashi Street, Mushin where the guns and ammunition were recovered before they carried out their criminal act.”
He however said investigation was ongoing on the matter while those at large would be arrested and prosecuted.
