Kelechi Iheanacho has said he is not under any pressure as a direct replacement for Morocco 2022 World Cup striker Youssef En-Neysri at Sevilla.
Iheanacho has signed a two-year contract with the La Liga club as a free agent after En-Neysri moved to Turkish giants Fenerbache.
“I feel good to be here. I’ve followed Sevilla and I’ve seen their games . I don’t feel the pressure. En-Nesyri has been a great striker, he’s done a lot for the team,” he said at his formal presentation today.
“Now it’s my turn, what I want is to focus on the games, on the team, and on continuing to improve every day.” He added: “As a player, obviously scoring goals would be great, but the most important thing is to play and win as a team.
“The most important thing is to win trophies, achieve objectives and have great successes.” It will be the first time he will play outside England and he said he welcomes the new challenge.
