At least seventy-three new babies have been delivered during the ongoing 72nd Annual Convention of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).
The development was announced by the church’s General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye during the convention.
Speaking during the Friday Holy Ghost Congress held at the church’s Redemption City in Mowe, Ogun State said over 18,068 worshippers also joined the Friday Holy Ghost service via the church’s YouTube page.
Sunday Telegraph reports that the annual convention, which began on Monday, August 5, 2024, will conclude on Sunday.
Also, he said that thousands of worshippers attended the programme, with both the old and new arenas filled to capacity and several overflow areas accommodating additional participants.
During his sermon on Saturday morning, Pastor Adeboye revealed that, as of 6 p.m. on Friday, a total of 73 babies had been born during the convention, comprising 39 boys and 34 girls.
He also noted that two sets of twins were among the newborns.
In a now-regular feature of the convention, Pastor Adeboye encouraged the congregation, saying, “The number of children born during this convention by 6 p.m. on Friday evening had increased to 73.
“We had another set of twins today. Now, we have a total of 39 boys and 34 girls. Let the boys shout ‘Praise the Lord!’ and let the girls shout ‘Hallelujah!’
“Don’t worry; the girls are trying to catch up. In fact, the set of twins are two girls. It must be a special day for girls also.”
In 2023, 62 babies were delivered, with an equal split of 31 boys and 31 girls.
