Mutfwang Meets With #EndBadGovernance Coalition, Pledges To Address Demands

Plateau State Governor Barr. Caleb Mutfwang on Saturday met with the Coalition for EndBadGovernance on the final day of the national protest in Jos, the State capital.

The coalition presented their demands to the governor, who expressed commitment to making Plateau and Nigeria a better place.

He acknowledged the frustration of the people and recognized that his administration inherited a challenging situation, but emphasized that the time for change is now.

Governor Mutfwang highlighted his efforts to lay the foundation for a better Plateau and appreciated the coalition for organizing a peaceful protest.

He announced plans to establish community markets and engage private investors to build new markets, as well as improve communication processes to ensure effective understanding of government policies.

The leader of the #Endbadgovernance in the State, Mr Sam Odey presented their demands to the Governor including reducing tuition fees, decreasing the cost of governance, publishing detailed information on state expenditures, payment of minimum wage, and other benefits.

They also presented their National demands to the Governor to deliver to Mr President to included reversing subsidy, reducing tuition fees in federal institutions, and reviewing electricity tariffs.

Also Speaking an Advocate Ishaya Inusa commended security agencies for their civility during the protest, noting that demands can be made without violence.

A coalition member, Mildred Bako
exempted the Plateau state government from the protest’s focus, criticizing high electricity tariffs and requesting alternative accommodation for those displaced by demolitions.

Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Hon. Bashir Datti, acknowledged the hardships faced by the people and urged the youth to pursue dialogue, appreciating the coalition’s willingness to engage with the government.

The meeting marks a significant step towards addressing the grievances of the people and working towards a better future for Plateau state and Nigeria.
