The management of StarTimes Nigeria has expressed joy ahead of the European season after securing the right to broadcast LALIGA games to Nigerians and other African countries ahead of the new season. The 2024-2025 LALIGA season kicks off on August 15, and StarTimes is bringing all 380 matches live to African viewers on its Sports Premium and Sports Life channels as well as StarTimes-ON app. This season promises to be a star-studded affair. French superstar Kylian Mbappé has joined Real Madrid.
LALIGA boasts the most star power of any league, with a staggering 8 players valued at over €100 million, surpassing the Premier League’s 6. Real Madrid’s attacking trio of Mbappé, Vinicius Junior, and Jude Bellingham alone holds a combined value of €180 million, making them the most valuable attacking line in the world. Speaking with our correspondent, the Assistant Marketing Manager of StarTimes, Lazarus Ibeabuchi, said it is another opportunity for greater height for the organisation.
“We are delighted to be able to show the LALIGA to our esteemed viewers ahead of the new season,” he said. “It was a glorious season for us last campaign in the Nigeria Premier Football League and this time around, with the coming of LALIGA, we now have more enticing games for our viewers across Africa. “Apart from the LALIGA, we also have the Carabao Cup for the delight of our viewers and the coming season promises to be interesting.”
