Zhongshan Fucheng Industrial Investment Co. Limited has announced the release of one of Nigeria’s three detained presidential aircraft, following a court order from a Paris judiciary court.
New Telegraph gathered that this development is sequel President Bola Tinubu’s forthcoming meeting with French President, Emmanuel Macron.
The aircraft, an Airbus A330, had been held in France due to a legal dispute between Zhongshan Fucheng and the Nigerian government.
The company’s spokesperson who announced the release of the aircraft said it was facilitated to ensure the aircraft’s availability for the presidential trip.
The company emphasized its commitment to a fair resolution of the dispute and remains open to further discussions with the Nigerian government.
The Federal Government, through Bayo it would be recalled that Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to President Tinubu, has initiated legal action to contest the interim seizure of the aircraft, which was ordered by the Paris Judicial Court on March 7 and August 12, 2024.
The aircraft had been seized while undergoing routine maintenance as part of Zhongshan’s efforts to enforce an arbitral award granted against Ogun State in 2021.
