Justice Mabel Segun-Bello, a Federal High Court judge, has opened up on the political intricacies involved in attaining a position as a federal judge in Nigeria.
Justice Segun-Bello who spoke on Saturday at the 2024 Clarity Conference in Abuja said to secure such a justice position, one must have the backing of either the presidency or a political party.
Speaking on the theme, “The Constellation: Gathering of Stars, By Stars and For Stars,” share her experiences and the obstacles she faced on her journey to becoming a federal judge, highlighting the challenging and politically charged process.
She said, “If I tell you where I come from, two things will happen: you will either think I’m lying or start crying. And remember, I’m not just a state judge; I’m a federal judge.
